The ugly friend

The ugly friend. The ugly daughter. The ugly sister.
I am pretty sure we all have heard these words and made us all think "wait, what if I am the ugly one?". If I am wrong and it did not make you think that then you are awesome and keep doing you, but I know there are people who are not that confident. And let me tell you, I was one of them and sometimes I still am.
About a year ago I saw a picture on the internet with sentences like "Im the ugly friend, Im the ugly daughter, I am the leftover" etc. The list was so long and I hated myself so much that I agreed with everything written there, but not anymore. I still dont think I am pretty or beautiful, but I am getting there. Here are some things that helped me through the self-hate and made me a more confident person.
  • STOP COMPARING YOURSELF TO OTHERS- You for sure have heard this before a million times, but never really tried this. I used to look at my friends like "oh my god she is so pretty, she has this an I dont, she has that and i dont.." but I stopped. It is not easy, but it is possible. Whenever you catch yourself comparing yourself to others just tell yourself stop and you will eventually get better at it and feel better. Instead TELL YOURSELF THAT YOU ARE AMAZING. Find some small things that you like about you and tell yourself you are pretty.
  • DONT BE AFRAID TO CHANGE
    •  If you dont like your body then do something for it.Your body wont change if you will just sit at home all day and say that you are fat or too weak. If you really want to change, try avoiding sweets, start eating healthier and workout. I highly recommend Kayla Itsines' Bikini Body Workout guide, it is amazing. IF YOU DONT WANT TO CHANGE IT IS TOTALLY UP TO YOU, EVERY BODY IS BEAUTIFUL.
    • If you want to change your hair color/get piercing/get a tattoo GO FOR IT. If  anyone is telling you that 'It wont look good' just do not listen to them. If you want it then do it. Its YOURS and not theirs.
  • BUT DONT CHANGE JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE WANTS YOU TO- No. Just no.
  • GET OUT OF TOXIC FRIENDSHIPS- Before I changed school this year, almost all of my friendships were toxic and I realized it just now. My 'friends' made me feel like they were prettier and smarter than me. I was too scared to stop being friends with them, because I thought I would be alone, but now that I lost contact with them and found new friends who I feel comfortable with and who make me feel like I am no worse than them I know that being alone is okay. You have to have some alone time, it really helps you clear your mind.
I hope I could help you somehow. Dont ever forget that you are beautiful just the way you are.

Im sorry for grammatical errors,English is not my first language.
